Berrow Inn quiz nights help Burnham RNLI to acquire new projector
More than £700 has been given to Burnham-On-Sea RNLI after a year of fundraising quiz evenings at The Berrow Inn.
On the anniversary of their first quiz on Friday night (December 30th), the pub’s regulars and quizmaster Ray Hancock officially
handed over the proceeds as a gift to the station.
This meant that pub landlord Mark McDermot, and Ray were able to present the lifeboat station with a digital computer projector and accessories.
Lifeboat Operations Manager Martin Cox was on hand, accompanied by three quiz teams of RNLI volunteers, to receive the gift.
Ray Hancock said: “We wanted to raise some money to help our local lifeboat
station.”
“I am extremely pleased that we are able to present this equipment, and that the pub has decided to make the lifeboat station their nominated charity for the next 12 months.”
Martin Cox added: “We are really grateful for these gifts. Up to now we
have been giving lifeboat talks with the aid of a flip chart.”
“Now we are able to give power-point presentation lectures with a professional impact, and demonstrate the professionalism of RNLI volunteer crews much more
easily.”
