The Berrow Inn was reduced to a pile of rubble on Friday (May 23rd) after a demolition team completed its work.
As reported here earlier this month, a demolition order has been granted to the new owner of the property by Sedgemoor Disrtrict Council.
It follows months of uncertainty about the future of the pub, which intially went on sale last year.
Residents are concerned that the site will be converted by developers into flats or new homes, taking away the pub as a community asset.
Resident John Presley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a very sad day for the village. No-one wanted to see this pub shut down or demolished”
“It’s been an important part of our village life. The lack of action form the parish council hasn’t helped.”
