Man arrested after ‘racist incident’ at pub in Berrow

A Burnham-On-Sea man was arrested by police following an alleged racist incident at the Berrow Inn on Saturday evening (May 12th).

Police were called to the pub, as pictured here, after a woman claimed she had been verbally abused with racist remarks.

Police spokeswoman Cath Foster told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “One man has been charged with racially aggravated harassment and using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.”

She added that the man had been released on bail and is due to appear before magistrates on June 6th.
