The driver of this vehicle was lucky to escape serious injuries after overturning in Berrow during the early hours of Saturday (February 14th).
Police were called to the red Nissan on Berrow’s Village Green at 2am where the driver had lost control.
The car hit a telegraph pole and a sign post before ending up on its side, badly damaged, as pictured here.
“Police were called to the scene at around 2am. The driver did not suffer serious injuries,” Sgt Tracey Marlowe from Burnham Police confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Local resident Roger Harvey said his wife heard the crash. “There was a loud bang at around 2am when the car crashed, and we then saw the blue lights arriving soon after,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “It was quite a shock to see it like this – if the car had rolled further, it could have been into our garden.”
Berrow Parish Council Chairman Barry Kew said he was relieved that no-one was seriously hurt and said the council is in discussions with the police to get the vehicle removed.
