Rebuilding of Berrow Football Club’s pavilion on track for April finish

-

Work to rebuild Berrow Football Club’s pavilion following a huge blaze during 2005 is well underway and on target to be completed in April, it was confirmed this week.

The club’s huge fundraising campaign since fire swept through the building in November 2005 has paid off, with thousands of pounds raised to secure the future of the building.

After various delays in 2005, the rebuilding work is well underway, as our photos here show.

Andrea Johnstone, one of the organisers behind the continuing fundraising drive, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Work is going well and is on target to be completed by April 5th. We do still need more funds, though, so I would ask readers to keep sending donations.”

She added: “We’re currently planning a big re-opening during April, when all those who have given funds will be invited.”

The building work is being carried out by contractors Boley and Skuse. The pavilion is used by Berrow Boys, Berrow FC and Berrow, Burnham and Brean football teams.
