Berrow’s village fayre has been rearranged for Saturday June 5th after damaging gales caused the event’s cancellation at the weekend.
High winds damaged marquees and tents on the village’s playing field on Saturday, as pictured and reported here, leaving them strewn in trees and hedges.
Lynn Smith of Berrow Community Association told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had an emergency meeting of our members and decided that because we’ve raised money from advertisers for the event’s programme and also urgently need money for the village hall restoration, the event had to go ahead as soon as possible.”
“We’ve therefore rearranged the event for three weeks time on June 5th when we hope the weather will be calmer!”
