Burnham fire crews help free stranded cyclist on Berrow beach

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s fire crews carried out one of their more bizarre rescues on Thursday afternoon (June 3rd) when a child became stuck on her bicycle.

Two fire crews were called to Berrow beach at 4.23pm after a 999 call was made by the parents of the distressed youngster.

Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Once in attendance, the crews used a hydraulic hand wedge to release the child’s leg from between the frame and the pedal.”

“The child was left in the hands of her parents and an ambulance, who checked her over.”
