Berrow Cubs bounce back from brink of closure after local support

-

A cub pack near Burnham-On-Sea which was on the brink of closure has bounced back after support from the local community.

Berrow Cubs faced a real danger of closing last year due to low numbers, but has since been boosted by the arrival of new members and a cash injection.

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Round Table has this week handed the group a £250 boost this week, as pictured here.

“Thankfully, since Christmas, numbers have increased and the future once again looks bright for this vital local community resource, enabling children to get involved in a variety of activities and learning important life skills,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The spokesman added: “First Berrow Cub Scouts are most grateful to Burnham and Highbridge Round Table for this kind donation which will help with activities and equipment.”

The pack meets every Tuesday evening at Berrow Village Hall between 6.30pm and 8pm. New members – boys and girls – are welcomed and anyone interested in joining should contact Jenny Homes on 01278 781920.
