A woman remains in a critical condition after being hit by a car outside a Berrow holiday camp on Friday evening, while the condition of two young children also hit has improved to “serious but stable”.
Avon and Somerset Police spokesman Scott McPherson confirmed that the children’s condition had improved to being “serious but stable” since being airlifted to Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Police appealed for witnesses following the road traffic collision in Berrow yesterday evening (Friday).
The incident took place shortly before 5.20pm on Coast Road outside the Unity Farm Holiday Centre.
“A car was in a collision with a woman and two young children. All three sustained serious injuries,” a Police spokesman told Burnham-on-Sea.com.
“The woman was airlifted to Southmead Hospital and the two children have been airlifted to Bristol Children’s Hospital.”
A number of roads were closed while police enquiries continued, including Coast Road, South Road, Coat Road and Hurn Lane. Bus services were also diverted.
