Berrow Parish Council approves 10% reduction in council tax bills

-

Berrow Parish Council is to reduce its council tax bills by 10% this year following a big increase last year to pay for work to keep travellers away.

At the latest full council meeting of Berrow Parish Council, councillors agreed unanimously on the Budget and Precept for the forthcoming financial year.

The Budget and Precept was agreed at £42,223 – a 10% reduction on last year’s precept.

For a Band D Property, this will equate to £71.79 per year from the Council Tax Bill to run the Parish. Last year it was £79.79 per year.

Parish council clerk John Augustus told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The increase in the precept last year was due mainly to the Village Green bund being installed after the travellers invaded our Green.”
