A swarm of hundreds of bees caused a buzz in Burnham-On-Sea on Friday afternoon (May 13th) when they settled on this car.
Vehicle owner Melissa Dell had to call for a beekeeper to remove the swarm after it covered part of her VW Polo in Gloucester Road.
She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “My neighbour knocked on my door to let me know the swarm had landed. I could hardly believe it – it was an incredible sight!”
“I have no idea why they picked my car. There was no food for them here, but they seemed to be attracted by the fuel cap at the back of the vehicle.”
A local beekeeper was called to the scene, as pictured here, and managed to round up the swarm and take it safely away.
