Beavers at Burnham-On-Sea Scout Group have this week been working towards their first aid badge.
The group welcomed Julia Gibson and her team from St John Ambulance in Highbridge, who taught the children a number of essential skills.
“The Beavers have been learning a wide range of skills, including how to open blocked airways and place a person in the recovery position along with bandaging and treating minor cuts and grazes,” leader Mandy Williams told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The group know who to call in an emergency and what they must do at the scene of an accident. What a great opportunity our children have had in learning these life-saving skills.”
The group has also recently enjoyed a trip to @Bristol Science Museum to gain information for their experiment badge and they are also looking forward to working to gain more badges in the New Year and having more fun. For more details about the group, click here.
