A man is due to be sentenced in Taunton today (Friday) after pleading guilty to possessing dangerous explosives.
Thirty people had to be evacuated from their houses in Burnham in January after Phillip Leonard’s home in Beatty Way was raided by police.
The offences carry a maximum prison sentence of fourteen years.
Mr Leonard, 36, pleaded guilty to four charges at a hearing earlier this year.
He carried out his activities between 31st December 2011 and 21st January 2012.
Dozens of people were evacuated from their homes and a cordon was set up after a police raid in the street, as we reported here.
Leonard’s defence lawyer told the court he did not have any malicious motive and had not intended to use the explosives to cause damage or injury.
