Damaged Berrow beach access road re-opens after council repairs

-

The access road onto Berrow beach is set to re-open today (Tuesday) after being closed to all traffic for five days by Sedgemoor District Council due to damage caused by winds and high tides.

The concrete road surface was crumbling away and sand was washed away around it, as pictured here.

With sand washed away from around it, there was a sharp drop onto the beach that the council said could potentially damage vehicles.

The council told Burnham-On-Sea.com that a digger had rebuilt the road to repair it and allow access again.
