A teenager was taken to hospital with head injuries following a ‘disturbance’ on Burnham-On-Sea beach involving a large group of youngsters.
Police were called to the town beach near Maddock’s Slade last Friday night.
Police spokesman Wayne Baker confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of a disturbance at around 10.15pm in The Esplanade area.”
“One person, a teenage girl, was taken to hospital with a head injury. A group of youngsters were dispersed in the area.”
Police added today (Tuesfay) that a 15-year-old girl had been arrested on suspicion of common assault and is currently on bail pending further enquiries.
A nearby eyewitness said a large group of young people had been seen in the sand dunes between the lighthouse and Maddock’s Slade prior to the incident.
