These were the scenes on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Saturday morning (July 11th) when Coastguards came to the rescue of a lady who had suffered a suspected broken leg in a fall.
A team of Burnham Coastguards carried the middle-aged woman on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance after she fell near Maddock’s Slade at 9.20am.
The lady was taken to Weston General Hospital for treatment.
Coastguard Officer Nigel Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “She had been walking a dog when she stumbled and fell, leaving her with a suspected broken leg. She was in some pain, so we carried her on a stretcher across the beach to an ambulance.”
