A unique beach clean will be held at Brean on Saturday December 1st when families will have an opportunity to create environmental art from natural scavenged beach treasures!Â
The ‘Beach Clean and Create’ will be held on the beach next to Brean Down on Saturday 1st December form 2pm-4pm.
Visitors will be able to spend the afternoon with Tilda Gibbs from Somerset Wildlife Trust on Brean beach, helping to make the beach a safer haven for wildlife and a more beautiful place for visitors by cleaning it.
On completion of the beach clean, families will have an opportunity to create environmental art on the beach or return to upstairs of The Cove Café to create a Christmas decoration made out of natural scavenged beach treasures!
“Bring trugs or garden buckets, work gloves and even litter pickers – don’t worry we will have some available for children and adults if you don’t have any,” said a spokeswoman.
“Wildlife Trust staff will give a briefing on what to expect before the start. Bring warm layers, winter woollies and waterproofs and walking boots or even better wellingtons.”
“We shall meeting in the upstairs room of The National Trust’s Cove Café, at the bottom of Brean Down, at 2pm for our briefing and to get ready for our beach clean and environmental art adventure. Parking is available in the National Trust car park, free to members or £1 all day for non-members.”
