A group of supporters of Burnham-On-Sea’s Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy got on their bikes to raise money for the organisation on Sunday afternoon (November 8th).
A sponsored bike ride from Burnham to Berrow along the beach was held to raise over £1,000 of much-needed funds for the group.
The ride had orginally been due to be held the previous weekend, but had been postponed by poor weather.
Organiser Sally Edwards told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We rode from Maddock’s Slade along the beach to the Berrow Inn. Some of us had not ridden a bike for 10 years and found riding into the strong breeze a bit tough at first, but it was fun.”
“We stopped at the Berrow Inn for refreshments before flying back with the wind behind us.”
“A couple of people couldn’t make it but are going to do another day, but I estimate that if we manage to collect all that was promised today we will clear about £1100.00 which is amazing for a small group and we would like to thank all the people who pledged their support.”

Our next event will be The Ginger Hitlas in concert at The Railway Inn on Saturday 21st November. Tickets are on sale, priced £5 each.
