In photos: BBC radio show shines spotlight on Burnham musicians

-

Up-and-coming musicians in Burnham-On-Sea got a chance to perform on BBC radio on Thursday evening.

The broadcaster’s BBC Introducing in the West programme is currently on an open mic night tour of the region and visited Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Acoustic Club.

Sam Bonham and Richard Pitt, the presenter duo on the show, hope to raise awareness about small music venues and pubs across the region, all of which are supporting new artists.

BBC Introducing broadcast from the Ritz Social Club, joined by Matt Faulkner, the drivetime presenter on BBC Somerset.

Richard Pitt said: “BBC Introducing supports unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar musicians. It’s great that there are so many thriving open mic nights in Somerset, doing exactly the same.”

The programme is broadcast weekly on BBC Somerset, 8pm-10pm, on Saturdays.
