Burnham-On-Sea’s BAY Centre handed £800 boost by bridge group

-

The Burnham-On-Sea Area Youth Centre has been given a boost by Somerset Bridge Association this week.

Burnham’s BAY Centre has received a welcome £800 donation from Sheila Coda, a member of Somerset Bridge Association.

It comes after Sheila, who is able to choose which charities to support on behalf of the association, decided to share her charity donation between the BAY Centre and Devon and Somerset Air Ambulance.

£800 has this week been handed to Jan Bonus, the BAY Centre’s secretary.

BAY Centre Chairman Mike Lang said: “Our trustees committee has a policy of constant improvement, and this excellent gift will help us shake off the sands of time in our 52-year-old-building.”

“We will ensure that this donation is used effectively on doing something specific.”

The money was raised through a number of bridge clubs in the county who all play the same duplicated boards over a period of a week.
