A Burnham-On-Sea resident was one of the first bathers to take a dip in the controversial Bath Spa complex when it officially opened to the public on Monday (August 7th).
Six years late and built at a cost of £45m, the spa opened to paying customers at 9am – and Jendy Weekes, who is Burnham RNLI’s Supporters Group chairman, was among the first bathers.
She won her place after entering a BBC Radio Bristol competition and told Burnham-On-Sea.com the experience had been “brilliant.”
“To be swimming in the pool in the heat whilst enjoying stunning views of the abbey and park was simply stunning,” she said.
“We entered the steam room and the Minerva Pool and just had to say ‘wow’. They were just incredible.”
Now fully relaxed after her trip, she said the day had definitely been one to remember. “It was superb – we thoroughly enjoyed it – and my skin feels wonderful!”
