A barn blaze is being investigated by Police after crews from Burnham-On-Sea, Cheddar, Wells and Bridgwater were called out earlier today (Sunday).
The fire service received two calls to a reported barn alight in Holwell Lane, Cheddar at 1.45pm.
“Three appliances from Cheddar, Wells and Burnham-On-Sea, plus a Water Carrier from Bridgwater and an officer were mobilised to attend,” said a spokesman.
“Upon arrival, crews found a small fire in the roof area of the barn. The fire was extinguished using one main jet and cutting equipment.”
“The fire caused damage to wooden floor joists within the building and the incident was later handed over to the Police.”
Several other barn fires in the Burnham-On-Sea area earlier this month are also being investigated.
