Dozens of pupils from a Burnham-On-Sea School have made a special visit to the town’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB Search & Rescue to learn more about beach safety.
Over 80 pupils from St Andrew’s School were invited along to the seafront station where they heard about the work of the Burnham charity.
During the beach safety awareness day, held on Friday, the pupils and staff also watched a training exercise on Burnham beach where the rescue hovercraft were in action.
“BARB organises many visits, talks and presentations through the year to promote local beach safety,” said a spokesman. “The pupils really enjoyed their visit and found it very worthwhile.”
