MP visits Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft charity during open day

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP was among several hundred visitors who called in at the town’s rescue hovercraft station on Sunday (May 22nd) during an open day.

Tessa Munt visited the BARB headquarters on The Esplanade, where she met the charity’s crewmembers and discussed beach safety.

Leaflets and information were handed out during the day and visitors were also able to view the charity’s two hovercrafts and inshore rescue boat.

“The day proved to be successful and we were pleased to welcome Tessa Munt and the town’s Mayor and Mayoress during the event,” said a BARB spokesman.

Regular Sunday open days will also be held over the summer months. BARB is currently seeking new volunteer crewmembers and those who are interested can find out more at the open days.
