A Burnham-On-Sea charity is appealing to local people to help it secure £3,000 of community funding.
BARB, the long-running charity that runs Burnham’s rescue hovercrafts, has been nominated by Lloyds Bank’s staff in the town to receive a Lloyds Bank Community Fund Award.
However, to secure the funding, the charity needs votes from local people and its crew are appealing for local people to give their support by voting for it online here or by voting via SMS by texting the words VOTE MPHA to 61119.
Lloyds customers can also call in at the branch in Burnham High Street and place a token in the slot for BARB.
Voting closes across England and Wales ends on 1st November and LLoyds will then award grants to over 1,300 community groups across the UK.
Two local good causes in each area with the most votes will receive an award of £3,000.
The other two will be awarded £300 each. BARB is seeking the funding for new rescue equipment at its seafront hovercraft station.
