A family has presented a special donation to a Burnham-On-Sea charity in memory of a relative who died recently.
Christine Partridge died over the summer and, having seen the BARB Search & Rescue hovercraft flying along Burnham’s beach to help people, her final wish was to help the charity.
During a trip to Burnham, her family and friends have made a special visit to the seafront hovercraft station to meet crewmembers and hear about the work of the charity.
They also got a chance to see BARB’s hovercraft and inshore rescue boats up close. The family made a donation of over £500 from her legacy to the charity.
BARB’s Deputy Operations Manager Graham Hallsworth said: “We are very grateful for the family’s support. It was wonderful to hear all about Christine and to be able to discuss our charity’s work with her family. BARB is a small, local charity that’s fully reliant on donations so we very much appreciate the support.”
