Stranded campervan towed to safety on Berrow beach

-

A campervan had to be towed to safety after getting stranded on Berrow beach on Sunday afternoon (October 16th).

The owner alerted Brean’s beach warden after the wheels of his Hymer vehicle sank into soft sand.

A tractor from Burnham-based charity BARB (Burnham Area Rescue Boat) was called to the scene and the volunteer crews quickly managed to pull the vehicle free.

“I am very grateful for their prompt help,” vehicle owner Mike Bale from Portishead told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“I have been coming to Berrow and Brean for many years and have never got stuck before – I was taken by surprise at just how quickly the wheels sank into the soft sand.”
