Crowds of people headed to Burnham-On-Sea’s traditional August Bank Holiday summer fete in the town’s Manor Gardens.

The event – run by community group Burnham Events Social Team – saw over 40 stalls set up alongside entertainment and kids activities, helping many local groups with fundraising.

It was opened by Burnham and Highbridge’s Mayor Cllr Bill Hancock and Mayoress Frances Hancock.

The entertainment featured Siobhan Johnson’s youth and adult choirs, the U3A Ukulele band and the Draca Beordor Vikings.

A Burnham Events Social Team (BEST) spokesperson thanked everyone who had come along, making the event such a “great success.”

This year’s event was raising money towards a new defibrillator for Burnham High Street.

The Mayor told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I would like to add my thanks to all who supported the event and I congratulate BEST on running the fete each year. It’s important that this community event keeps going.”

BEST took on the organisation of the fete in 2016 after The Friends of Burnham Hospital decided they were unable to continue organising it.
