Firefighters called to flooded Burnham-On-Sea bank

-

Fire crews were called to a Burnham-On-Sea bank on Wednesday evening (August 25th) after torrential rainfall caused flooding inside.

Firefighters were called to HSBC in College Street at 6.45pm, as pictured here, after the bank’s alarms sounded when water gushed through the ceiling of the property.

Crews used an extended ladder to get onto the roof and investigate the source of the flooding.

Burnham fire officer Dick Solomon told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Rain water came into the building, causing flooding inside.”

The bank was open for business as normal on Thursday, but with a visible patch of damp on the ceiling.
