One of the 250 balloons which lifted off from Burnham-On-Sea High Street last month at the start of a fundraising balloon race has been blown all the way to Ireland!
Hundreds of the balloons were released outside Sue Ryder Care’s High Street shop on May 23rd (as pictured).
And the winning balloon which travelled the farthest has just been confirmed this week.
Burnham shop manager Helen Roberts told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were amazed to hear one balloon had gone from Burnham-On-Sea all the way to Ireland. It must have been blown over Wales and across the Irish Sea – quite some distance.”
The winner, who has not yet been named, gets a trip in a hot air balloon.
