Three judges for the 2015 Great Burnham Bake-Off are announced

-

A great line-up of local judges has been announced for The Great Burnham Bake Off, the local competition for home and professional bakes which will return at Saturday’s Burnham Food and Drink Festival on 23rd May.

Festival director Sarah Milner Simonds said: “Some think judging the Bake Off is a dream job, but I know that the feedback from past judges has been that it is a taller order than it first appears. This time judges will be sampling and debating over Victoria sandwiches, lemon drizzle cake, loafs of bread, tea-time cakes and wedding cakes!”

The judges include Rosemary Jackson from the sponsors Retreat Caravan Park and also Bini Ludlow and Burnham’s Reverend Sharon Eldergill.

Sharon said: “It is fantastic to support bosfoodfest, and I am especially delighted to get the top job – judging the Bake Off!”

Indian chef Bini Ludlow added: “I have been judging food and drink competitions across the south west and I am looking for moist bakes that are tasty and attractive.”

The Great Burnham Bake Off is free to enter and all bakes must be at the Somerset Skills & Learning Centre in Princess Street by 2pm on 23rd May with a completed application form. Forms can be downloaded here.
