Police launch crackdown on anti-social behaviour in Burnham

-

Burnham-On-Sea police have launched a crackdown on anti-social behaviour in the town following a series of incidents in recent days.

Stones and water bombs were thrown at vehicles in Westfield Road, Burnham earlier this week. And, seperately, two deliberate fires were set in Highbridge, as first reported here.

PCSO Pete Williams of the Burnham beat team told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “If you have teenage children can you answer ‘where are your children now’, ‘who are they with’ and ‘what are they doing?’ If you don’t know the answer, it could be the local police who provide you with the details.”

“We take all reports of anti-social behaviour very seriously and will deal with identified offenders very positively. We have a number of sanctions available to us that could result in people being arrested.”

“During the summer months there is often a increase in the numbers of incidents reported to us. We need to know where it is happening so we can respond. All the team at Burnham are tasked specifically by the Inspector to ensure we deal positively with and follow up all reports. We are determined to ensure that everyone can be safe and feel safe during this summer.”

Anyone wishing to report incidents of anti-social behaviour can do so by contacting the police on 0845 456 7000.
