Six people have been arrested following a spate of vandalism in Burnham-On-Sea which police have described as ‘thoughtless’.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported on Monday that angry residents in Rosewood Avenue, Briar Close and Rosewood Drive face repair bills for thousands of pounds after six garden walls were pushed over, as pictured here.
Sgt Ian Kennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Tuesday (April 3rd): “A number of offenders have been identified and six persons have been arrested and are now on police bail.”
“This type of thoughtless vandalism causes a lot of distress to victims and many of these affected are elderly.”
He added: “As a community it is our duty to protect our more vulnerable members and anyone who witnesses this sort of behaviour should immediately report this to the police.”
Burnham Police have urged residents who see anyone acting suspiciously to contact them via their non-emergency line of 101.
