Burnham-On-Sea police have renewed their appeal for information following an armed raid at Avon Newsagents in Oxford Street last Wednesday (October 18th).
Police spokesman Dan Mountain told Burnham-On-Sea.com there had been an “encouraging response” from the public in recent days , but more information is needed.
“We would encourage people to come forward with any information they have,” he said.
“If you saw anyone – or anything – suspicious in the area of Oxford Street or Dunstan Road at around 9.15am last Wednesday, we’d urge you to get in touch.”
As Burnham-On-Sea.com reported last week, a man entered the newsagents shop at around 9.20am and threatened staff with a gun, before fleeing empty handed.
Police are appealing for help in tracing the man. He is described as white, aged in his late teens and about 5ft 6ins tall.
He was wearing a grey hooded jacket with muddy sleeves, a grey or blue top which was zipped up to the neck, dark trousers and a light blue belt.”
