One person was arrested by police in Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (April 10th) after several properties were raided in the town centre.
Armed police were seen entering the properties in co-ordinated activities in the town centre.
A Police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Officers executed two pre-planned warrants at a residential property in College Street and George Street.”
“One person was arrested and is in police custody.”
“Neighbourhood officers will be carrying out extra reassurance patrols in the area, however we do not consider there to be any increased risk to the public.”
Several roads in the town centre, including the High Street and College Street, were temporarily closed by Police just after 11.30am when the raids took place, causing disruption for shoppers and passers-by.
