Armed Forces Day was marked in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge on Saturday (June 23rd) with two ceremonies.
Dozens of residents attended the flag-raising ceremonies in Highbridge, outside the Community Hall, and besides Burnham’s Pier Street fountain.
Mayor Ken Smout was joined by members of Burnham Army Cadets, the Royal British Legion’s flag bearers, Scuts, town councillors, residents and representatives from Burnham Chamber of Trade and BARB at the two ceremonies.
The Mayor told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was wonderful to see good support in Burnham and Highbridge today for these ceremonies, demonstrating our backing for our Armed Forces.”
