Burnham-On-Sea’s MP has tried his hand at archery during a visit to the Burnham Company of Archers.
The group welcomed MP James Heappey as their special guest to present the awards their annual club championships held at the town’s BASC Ground.
He was also invited to shoot several arrows at the target – and impressed those watching with his accuracy at hitting the centre target.
Mr Heappey presented awards to Overall Junior Champion Prodromos Georgiou, Junior Girl Champion Molly Joyce, Junior Boy Champion Prodromos Georgiou, Senior Champion Daniel Barritt.
Gold medal winners were Dan Barritt, Prodromos Georgiou, Molly Joyce and Jacob Tipper; Silver Medal Winners Chris Hole (Chairman), Gary Orton and Ron Venables; and Bronze Medal Winners David Collins, Andy Burgess, Paul Tipper, Natasha Riddle and Darragh Joyce.
The club’s Claire Burgess told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The event was a great success and it was fantastic to have our MP along to present the awards and give it a go himself.”
