More than 50 athletes took part in Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront aquathlon on Sunday morning (March 6th).
The popular event, which was organised by Burnham Swim and Sports Academy, comprised of a 250 metre swim at Burnham Pool followed by a 2.5km run along the beach and seafront. A separate children’s race was also well supported.
Alice Hector from West Country Triathletes won the event in a fast time of 13 minutes and 21 seconds. She was half a minute ahead of second-placed Paul De St Paer. Full results are available here.
“The event was very well supported by competitors from across the area and we were very pleased that such a wide range of ages took part,” organiser Martin Rogers told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
