A two-day festival dedicated to apples and cider is being held at Sanders Garden World, near Burnham-On-Sea, this weekend (October 10th and 11th).
Visitors to the Brent Knoll garden centre will be able to make their own apple juice as part of the Apple and Cider Weekend.
Ali Stokes, Gift Foods Manager at the garden centre, said: “We wanted to host the Apple and Cider Weekend to celebrate this traditional Somerset fruit and its many uses.”
“We have an apple press on site and are giving customers the opportunity to bring their own apples for pressing, or they can buy some from the garden centre, to make their own apple juice.”
Garden centre experts will also be in-store offering free advice on selecting and growing apple trees and making cider and juices.
Ali added: “There will also be taste and test sessions of chutneys, pickles, jams and marmalades in the gift food department for customers to sample and there will be apple games for children.”
