Woman appeals for help to find ‘sentimental’ brooch lost on Burnham-On-Sea beach

-

An appeal has been issued for help to find a silver brooch with a special back story that has been lost on Burnham-On-Sea beach this week.

Pippa Pearce MBE lost the replica coin brooch during a walk along Burnham beach on Boxing Day.

She says the brooch has sentimental value as it was worn by her when she received her MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace last month.

Brother Andy told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was lost on Burnham beach between the low lighthouse and the hovercraft station.”

“It came off my sister’s hat and although it has no monetary value, she wore it when she received her MBE last month for her archaeology work, so it has some history for us.”

“The brooch was mentioned by Prince Charles during their little chat, so I think it might become the closest we have to family heirlooms!”

Pippa works with historical coin hoards found across England and was awarded an MBE for services to metal conservation.
