Several users of the park have expressed concern about the poor condition of lake-side paths around the water which has been worsened by recent flooding.
One regular walker, who asked not to be named, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The condition of the path around the lake is atrocious. For users of wheelchairs and mobility scooters it is actually dangerous and the council urgently needs to make some repairs.”
Sedgemoor District Council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The paths have been inspected by our health and safety team and, whilst they are obviously in need of repair, there is no immediate danger. Our staff check them regularly to make sure that there is no deterioration.”
She added that the council is in discussions with contractors to assess what needs to be done to repair them. Work to improve the paths is expected later this year.
