A £30,000 project to create brand new fishing platforms and two new islands at Highbridge’s Apex Willdlife Park was officially completed this week and opened on Wednesday (February 25th).
Dennis Davey, Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, joined Ron Parker and Maurice White from Highbridge Angling Association, and Harley Cook from Sedgemoor District Council were at the opening, as pictured here.
Iain Turner, the Environment Agency’s Fisheries Technical Officer for the Wessex Area, was also on hand to explain the work which has taken place over the last few weeks.
Burnham-On-Sea.com reported last week how modern new fishing platforms have been constructed around the main fishing lake, along with two new islands (pictured below) to protect fish and encourage breeding.
The park received £25,000 of funding from the Environment Agency and a further £5,000 from Sedgemoor District Council to create the upated facilities.
