Walkers in a Burnham-On-Sea park were this week being handed safety information kits by police following a series of indecent exposures in the area.
PCSOs Gill Udall and Claire Chambers were handing out the free safety packs to female walkers at Apex Park on Wednesday (January 31st) after several indecent expousures in recent months.
The packs include a sheet of safety advice, a personal attack alarm and a disposable camera in a pro-active effort to promote personal safety.
“Apex Park has seen an increase in reported incidents of indecent exposure by a male during the last year,” PCSO Udall told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Numerous women have seen the suspect, who to date has avoided identification.”
“We are therefore offering female dog walkers crime reduction advice and literature, a personal attack alarm and a disposable camera which should be used from a distance in an attempt to secure evidence of the offender.”
Police are handing out the safety kits at the park on January 31st and February 3rd.
