A star of film and stage visited Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (February 17th) when she told anecdotes from her incredible career and sang a line-up of popular songs.
Anita Harris – who is best known for starring in many popular Carry On comedy films, including Follow That Camel and Carry On Doctor – performed at Burnham’s Princess Theatre for a special matinee show.
Anita told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is such a wonderful theatre and Somerset is a special place for me. Burnham is such a lovely place. There was a super audience and it’s great to see local people supporting this lovely theatre.”
Anita was also one of the brightest young singing stars of the 1960s, performing in shows alongside Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark. She learned her trade from Frank Sinatra and Mae West in Las Vegas, and had a long-running starring role in the musical Cats.
