The owners of a popular tourism attraction in Berrow have submitted new plans to extend their facilities.
Animal Farm wants to expand its park with a number of new attractions at its site in Red Road, including an animal-themed carousel, animal adventure boats and a water-based playground.
Burnham-On-Sea.com revealed here in January that district council planners had turned down the plans, claiming they would adversely affect the surrounding countryside.
But assistant manager Krystal Finch told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “We’ve reworked the designs and removed the plans for a water feature. A landscape impact assessment has also been carried out to demonstrate that the development would be screened from the outside and that it will have no impact on other residents.”
“We now have our fingers crossed that the new plans will go through and we would like to get the new facilities open for part of the summer season.”
“We really appreciate the support shown on Burnham-On-Sea.com’s forums earlier in the year – it’s great that people want us to further improve the park.”
“We’re one of the few local tourist attractions that stays open all year-round and we would like to create further new jobs in time.”
