The founder of a Burnham-On-Sea based counselling charity has received an award to recognise her work in the community.
Angie Clarke, who set up Somewhere House Somerset six years ago, has received a PCC Pride award from Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens.
Angie has worked more than 34 years in providing counselling for both mental health and addiction.
Somewhere House Somerset offers counselling support and talks to schools, colleges and anyone else who asks in relation to the impact of addiction and mental health.
Angie said she was “humbled” by the award, which was presented to her at Avon and Somerset HQ in Portishead on August 14th.
The Police and Crime Commissioner’s awards recognise the silent stars who achieve great things or go above and beyond what is expected across the region.
The awards aim to give people the chance to highlight those working tirelessly in their communities or organisations.
Winners are presented with a certificate and are invited to visit and have lunch with Sue Mountstevens at Police Headquarters.
