Burnham-On-Sea ambulance station will open its doors to the public for a family open day today (Sunday, July 15th).
South Western Ambulance Service – SWASFT – is holding its first Burnham open day at its station in Love Lane (TA8 1EU).
The event will run from 11am-3pm and will showcase ambulance resources and staff within the Trust.
Vehicles on display during the day will include frontline ambulances, rapid-response vehicles, the motorcycle response unit and Hazardous Area Response Team.
Some of the volunteer community first responders will also be on-hand to talk about their role within SWASFT and to guide visitors through practical CPR demonstrations.
Chris Parsons, Paramedic at Burnham Station, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Weather permitting this should be a fantastic family orientated time with plenty of hands-on opportunities for those that want to see the vehicles and equipment we use, all guided by our frontline ambulance staff.”
Parking is not available onsite but there is roadside parking in adjacent streets and at the nearby Oxford Street car park (opposite Lidl) which is a 5-minute walk away.
