Ticket sales for a stage performance of the sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo near Burnham-On-Sea are proving so brisk that an extra night of the show is to be held.
West Huntspill Players are set to perform a stage version of the French wartime comedy classic ‘Allo ‘Allo, based on the popular TV series.
The drama group has been entertaining audiences for over 40 years and this popular comedy already has the makings of a great night’s entertainment.
It is being staged over four days from October 28th to 31st inclusive at 7.45pm each night at the Balliol Hall but as the four nights are now fully sold out, the group have decided to stage an extra night on Tuesday 27th, with tickets costing £6 and £7.
The comedy, based on the popular TV series, is directed by David Jenkins, and follows the adventures of Rene, the hapless cafe owner in war-torn occupied France, as he and his wife Edith struggle to keep for themselves a priceless portrait stolen by the Nazis and kept in a sausage in their cellar.
Rene is also hiding two British airmen and is endeavouring with the help of the resistance to repatriate them.
However, communications with London through a wireless disguised as a cockatoo add to the many embarrassments he endures in the company of his patrons.
Tickets are available, priced at £6 and £7, from Mary Parish on 01278 785651.
Matters come to a head with the news that the Fuhrer is to visit the town and the cafe becomes filled with tricksters intending to impersonate Hitler before the event.
Rene will need all the wit he can muster to save his cafe and his life!
The cast have been rehearsing through the summer to ensure that the production is going to be one to be remembered.
