A three-day visual arts festival with a theme of Alice In Wonderland is bring held in Highbridge’s Apex Park this weekend.
Called ‘Alice in Apex Park’, local artists have placed many wonderland characters around the lakes for visitors to see alongside many other art-related activities.
The event started on Friday (15th July) and continues until Sunday (17th July),m opening each day from 10am-4.30pm.
It is the latest event to be organised by local group The Highbridge and Burnham Artists (HaBA).
“You will be able to meet the characters from the well-loved story of Alice In Wonderland and Alice Through The Looking Glass on a sculpture trail around the lakes and also visit the family workshops which include mask making, mad hat making and willow art,” one of the organisers, Sue Hammond-Lovatt, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
There will also be a number of competitions to enter, workshops, live music and art and craft exhibitions plus visits from Somerset Wildlife Trust, BARB, the RSPB and other local groups.
The sculpture on show has been produced by local schools, youth clubs, residential homes and some of the artists themselves.
The event will be rounded off with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Sunday afternoon.
