Highbridge’s new Aldi supermarket is set to open in August and a new Travelodge hotel will open in October, the firms have confirmed.
Work to build the two major developments on the Isleport Business Park, just off Bennett Road, is progressing to schedule.
The new Highbridge Aldi store will open in August 2018, with Aldi’s recruitment website already promoting new job opportunities there.
Travelodge has confirmed its new 75-bed Highbridge hotel will open in October 2018, pictured below.
Sedgemoor District Council approved plans for the two major developments last year
Construction of the new 1,804 square-metre Aldi store and adjacent roads began in January.
An Aldi spokeswoman said: “Our new Highbridge store will create up to 30 jobs for the community.”
The spokeswoman added that a mixture of part-time and full-time positions will be created.
As Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here, Travelodge is to build a four-storey hotel with 75 bedrooms, 75 parking spaces, and a cafe/bar at the site.
A fast food drive-thru is also due to be built at the site, with formal plans yet to be unveiled.
